****** jeep with Olds V8

Im in the progress of this build. I have searched the net for information but no luck so far. It would have been good if someone had some experiance about this type of engine swap. So far the major issue is cooling, space of radiator and fans I cant get space for a mecanical fan it has to be electrical. I send some pictures.
The car is a 1957 FC frame and a new flatfender WW II MB tub, fenders, hood and grill. please give me your thoughts.

There is an Olds water pump that is 5.1" long - an inch shorter than the longest one. Perhaps the radiator can be moved forward a little using fabricated brackets?

and/or the electric fan

Great project!

i have a short pump (out of thre diffrent lengts) and it's nessesary I can tell. Right know i have only 3 inches from the pump flange to the inside of the grill ribs. I will have to move the engine and transmission rearby about 2 inches and trim the firewall so I can push the tub forward. The driveshaft gets even shorter. that way i know that I should have about 6.5 inch to the grill.

You will probably be limited to only being able to use a short tail th350 transmission. A 400, 700r4 or a 2004r may not be able to mount due to the x frame interfering.

Were just finishing up the same swap on a 1947 Jeepster. It originally had an emissions olds 350 and now its getting a big block. And the 400 will NOT fit due to the X-frame. A 350 trans fits fine. Here's a couple pictures so you can see how we did the mechanical fan and radiator set up. Its tight but it works.

I have the BOP Th 350 with a advance adapter and the Spicer 18 transfer case. It doesn't have to be a short tail. because you have to change to a shorter transmission shaft thats in the adapter kit. Lots of chevy sb swaps with this transmission setup have been made but not many with a Olds engine. It seems to be doable, with some tveaking. i will have to lower the rear to even the drive shaft angle but thats not a problem for me. I want it lower. The ****** have a perimeter frame so no interference with the frame, it's just very short.

Nice, thank's for the pictures. As it seems you have a longer engine bay in the jeepster. That car is Cool.
