12V DC PLC controller on epay

In case anyone is interested
Crouzet Millenium 3
operates on 12VDC
takes inputs or runs a program you tell it to
actuates relays to perform output tasks
I use these at work but the 240VAC versions.

would make an interesting alarm or perhaps car show setup. Could easily make the car slower and then stop if authorized driver is not using it.

Short not too complicated programs are easily made with the software, but the $100 cable is required to put program in the PLC. I have the cable.

They are about $150. Usually 4 inputs and 4 to 8 outputs.

Indeed
I was trying to talk Dr. Oldmobile into running his 3-axle '58 two-engine tribute J2/L69 vehicle show with such a thing. Actuate the top? Take input from buttons and play a video related? change advertising projected on the windows... etc.

at work we use them to do basic testing- turn unit on, wait, turn off, count a cycle accomplished, repeat. I has one hooked to a current sensor to stop everything or at least log the date and time if current draw was not up to par after a few seconds.

here is more info
http://www.newark.com/crouzet-automa...=KNC-G-SKU-MDC

8 inputs, 4 outputs.

My friend with the 59 Ford retractable needs this. It's GOTTA be a better solution than the rat's nest of wires, limit switches, relays, interlocks, etc, etc that control that thing now.

Pretty pricey, but I can see some applications, IE Joes buddy, where it may be cost effective to use. I've used similar boxes to automate food processing plants. Before that it was a big panel with tons of relay logic.
