How long should one wait for a private seller to ship parts that you have paid upfront for(paypal)?
Already been in contact with seller, and his promised ship date has come and gone, when do I start to blow up his name and number?

If you paid through PayPal "goods and services" , you are protected by PayPal. Contact PayPal and file a claim. You will be paid by PayPal.
The PayPal protection plan only applies to payments made under "goods and services." If you paid under "friends or gifts" , you do not have protection.
In the future, always specify "goods and services." The "goods and services" fees are more costly, but you are protected.
Keep us informed. I hope this was helpful.

You can also post the seller's name and email address on our forum. Doing so, protects other members and has a chilling effect on the seller, especially if the seller advertises on this site!!
Unfortunately, many internet sellers are transacted fraudulently.
As I mentioned in my previous post, when using PayPal, I always request an invoice from the seller specifying to ship by way of goods and services. Upon receipt of the seller's invoice you can verify the method of shipping and even add notes. If all is in order, press "send payment."

B.S.! The seller receives payment immediately and should ship immediately after receipt of payment. In the future, request an email from the seller notifying you of the shipping date. Document, document, document!

70W-32. Email the seller and ask how the item was shipped and when.Request the tracking number, method of shipment and shipping date and time! Also, ask for a copy of the shipping receipt.
Always be careful unless you know the seller!

Whenever Ive listed items forsale, I already have the packaging on hand, ready to go. Apparently some people wait until after they sell something to try and wrangle up a free box that will work.
I dont sell alot ,but always get the item out in the mail right away and expect the same .The seller has his money instantly with PayPal ,so you should have your parts reasonably soon .Some sellers insist you use friends and family through PayPal ,which doesn't give the same protection as goods and services .I have had good luck on this site with purchases.Hope it all works out well for you
I usually ship within 2-3 days and I usually ship USPS Priority Mail. After I send the package I text a pic of the receipt with the tracking number to the buyer.
I don't know how long its been but I wouldn't get upset unless the guy isn't replying to you. I've had times where I couldn't get something out for almost a week. A lot of people travel for work where I live and they're only home on weekends. If you buy something on a Monday it wouldn't be uncommon for it to get sent out a week or more later.

PayPal policy is the seller must ship within 7 days unless specifically stated in the product description.
If you require other arrangements, you need to document the terms with the seller, such as agreeing to ship it the next day or paying for 2 day shipping etc.
Also communicate.... get the sellers phone number & TALK to them. Forums, PM's etc are a **** poor way to communicate.
Text & emails are the way to document things as you have a more reliable record of things.
If you used Paypal, then respond or document everything through their message system as you are trying to keep your buyer protection in place.
Once you have a record of the call, text or email, so you at least have something linked to the identity of the person... although it's not foolproof as there are prepaid phones etc.
Provide an email address so they can forward tracking info etc.
Keep in mind, with used parts & private parties, the seller typically does not have the product boxed & ready to ship.... it's easy to get excited & want your part the same day, but in reality this person likely has a job & may not be able to get to UPS or the post office during the week.
Again... establish the level of expectation before hand.
I've been on both ends of these transactions....
I bought a part, then the seller goes silent, & I did not have a part 2 weeks later. It's frustrating & I'm worried that I got ripped off.
But I've also seen it from the other perspective, where I sold something & the buyer took a month to pay for the part. Then has the nerve to call me asking where his tracking number was 4 hrs after I got the PayPal payment.
