What a waste
I'm really sick and tired of seeing this stupid limo all over the interwebs for the last month or so, but I only just noticed today that it has not one but TWO sets of early Vista roof glass. What a waste!

No one ever said that. It was built as a stunt to get into the Guiness book for "longest car" or some such BS. They apparently had to cut it in half just to ship it to FL for a "restoration". That's why it's a waste of two good sets of roof glass.

Fate of "The American Dream," World's Longest Limo, in Hands of Florida Man
Trophy wife or low hanging fruit? Crazy.

Ohrberg built the car in two sections, which are joined in the middle by a hinge (that required an operator separate from the driver) for navigating tighter corners; the hinge could also be set to a fixed position, so that the limo was rigid over its entire length.
It still likely couldn't make a regular 90º turn on a road. By "tighter corners" they might mean a curve in a multi-lane interstate highway.

This vehicle could split into two drivable sections. My very close friends built trailers to assist in moving this behemoth. I spent my summers as a kid visiting those friends and staring at pics of The American Dream limo on the trailer they built. So, to me, its not so much a monstrosity but, a fun memory to see this thread. Gonna give my friends a call to see how they are doing.

WOW! Cranky much? How many of those roofs have gone to bone yards around the country? And now complaining about two sets in a car that isn't yours and will probably never have an effect on parts availability for the automotive world. How 'bout celebrating that it required Olds parts to create such a world record vehicle. Could it have been made without them? Maybe, but it wasn't so enjoy that our preferred vehicle brand is a part of it. If you still can't stand it, don't look at it.
