C'mon, Chuck, you know it's not that easy! Still not done as the 1st gear activation switch went **** up on the test. Need to come up with a new plan. The Nittos still spun at 3800 hammer drop.

Thanks, Trip!

I fit up the gear vendors in the 72 today, its going to take a fair amount of massaging to get it to clear the floor pan.

I replaced a bad header gasket on my 64 F85. I was fortunate that it was on the right side, the bolts were somewhat easy to get to. It is a 455 and access on the drivers side is tight and one of the bolts is near impossible to get a wrench on it.

I decided that trying to get the 1st gear switch on the transmission was more difficult than it was worth. I dropped back, punted, and rewired the line lock button to perform double duty.

Switching over from a hydraulic throwout to an external slave cylinder. It was almost impossible to get the trans in without scraping the sleeve on the release fingers. That makes a leak, and I have to pull the trans to fix it, only to repeat the process. No more!

Body work and paint done

Finally after 9 months I painted my 1975 Delta 88. It's not perfect, but not bad for the first time doing body work and painting a car.

Took a nice cruise!

Did a 700mile round trip this weekend. I’ve got some things to look at in the future but she did great up to 80-ish MPH w/AC and around 17MPG.

First snow here in Wisconsin yesterday. They treated the roads. Parked the '71 Cutlass in the garage for winter. Everything's working now. Older delivery time photo, July.

Looks like you're on the same "throwing money at it" boat as me!

Been making some choices on gauge set, braking system and cooling system for my build. Looks like Speedhut, Hydratech and BeCool for the win...

I installed a Garmin backup camera that uses the GPS unit for a screen in my wife's 1995 Cutlass Supreme convertible I just bought for her. It is wireless and was a slick installation.

I spent the day cleaning the garage, and washing the car in anticipation of putting the Olds in winter “dry dock”. It was almost 60 degrees today, probably not to ms y warm days left in the year.

I installed Holley Sniper Quadrajet, Hyperspark ignition, coil and distributor. Also required MSD Super Conductor plug wires, and MSD 8830 Noise Filter to combat some RFI issues.

Great thread. Tearing down the 70S to upgrade the 2004R with CK parts, pump, servo, shift kit along with all new seals. I swear all these old GM leak somewhere, no matter what. Then pull the engine, put new rod and main bearings in the 403 with a new oil pump and pick up. The crank looked really good, the bearings were so so, along with the oil pressure. The main reason I am pulling it, the SB Edelbrock Performer cam lost at least one lobe. Apparently the third time wasn't the charm. Leaving the rings as, 150 to 160 psi compression, plenty of go even with the dying cam. I put the double roller timing set from the 73 350 in it, not much slack and degreed accurate. I will get the 204/214 cam again or something 215 or less duration and 112 LSA or wider. I plan on keeping the Performer intake. This motor will hopefully go into a 88 to 95 chebby/GMC 4x4 running the TBI, once my new 350 is done. I finished paying Cutlassefi for the SEFI conversion of my RPM intake, new injectors and a couple of other parts.

Ok trying to say again what did I do to my Oldsmobile today.... regarding my red 70 cutlass cruiser

warmed up the wagon after it sat for a couple weeks let it run and probably gonna swap back to the late 70s 403 Quadrajet today (runs better and better mpg than the 70 carb)

Reinforced and modified my transmission cross member so the TH400 and Gear Vendors fit better. Also didn't like how all the weight was hanging off the back end and putting lots of stress on the frame mounts so I added two more mounting points along with gussets etc. for added strength.

Lookin' good TripDeuces!

I recently painted the headers on my 71 98. They have to go back in before I install the heads. Let's hope the paint doesn't burn off the moment I start the engine.
