Washer pump questions...

So when I bought my Cutlass I had to replace the whole washer fluid system. I bought an after market pump and it's all electric. When I hit the button, it has too much pressure and shoots up over the windshield and onto the roof.

I kept the OEM pump and I'm going to use it. Is there a rebuild kit that I can acquire somewhere?

Also, I know the OEM pump is driven off the wiper motor, so is it pretty easy to line up the hub on the pump to the driving pin on the motor?

The rebuild kit is TRICO 11101 and should be available from most auto parts stores.
Rock Auto's web site shows $4.87 and O'Reilly Auto Parts web site shows $7.99.

Have you tried bending the washer nozzles downward so the stream of water strikes the windshield?

You DO realize that you can simply bend the washer nozzle tubes to adjust where they hit the windshield, right?

Yep...I did that but because of the pressure I get a solid stream instead of a "fan" pattern. I'm pretty sure I checked my nozzles to make sure they weren't clogged when I put them on, but I'll double check again. Can anyone lend some advice on the alignment in case I go back to the OEM pump?

If you are talking about your 72, these cars didn't have a fan spray, only two strong streams out of each nozzle. You bend the nozzles to hit the windshield in your vision area.
