Angry WARNING: Disturbing content (esp. for '71 442 owners)

1971 olds 442 - $6500 (toledo)

This has to be one of the most heart-wrenching Craigslist postings I've seen in a while, and I don't even own a car like this.

You can get the full story reading the ad, but suffice it to say, there is getting your car burglarized and then there is this...

That's ridiculous for idiots to do that - I'd be posting a healthy $$ reward for information.... On the bright side, fenders and buckets are easy replacements, and if you look behind the rear wheel in the one shot, that car was going to need some serious quarter repair anyway for rust. This wasn't a 100-point car by a longshot before the damage. For $6K or so, someone will get a nice 442 to restore.

What idiots! Don't they know to use a bumper jack with the bumpers??
I wish the car fell on them and did them in. I have no sympathy with thieves at all. Hope they get 'theirs'...

Why, exactly, does anyone expect thieves to give a rat's patoot about damaging the car? Also, frankly, this is not the end of the world. That car looks very fixable. It also looks to be worth about half of his asking price.

IF it was in the garage.. where are the tire marks in the snow.
yes it looks free of snow and all like it wasn't outside.. but that could be easily hidden.
I see some other red flags. the steel rims have snow on them the car doesn't.
there are NO tracks in the snow of the car being moved into it's location..
I would run away from this one.. pics just don't add up

It's clearly been vandalized, snow tracks or not.
Rim's aren't a big loss because replacements are everywhere for nothing.
But the fenders are fubared......

Things like this make a man do very foolish things in the name of retribution.
I'm sure I'd be absolutely livid.......

Like Joe said, thieves don't care otherwise they wouldn't be thieves they would work for a living like the rest of us. Shoot'em when you catch them is the only solution.

Thats bad, here is a picture of the garage I had some cars in. My 4spd Delta was vandalized. Cinder blocks were dropped from above onto the hood. Destroyed the hood, cowl is dented, air cleaner was destroyed. I got it out of there. The day before I was going down to remove the 83 Riviera conv this happened. A-holes are everywhere!
