it’s not a very deep stamp on that block. I’ve seen many that trail off at one end of the other ..some are so faint they are barely legible. I can post pics of some that dont look as good as what that does.

you have enough of the VIN to say it’s correct in my opinion.

the missing or faint 3 means Oldsmobile..do you think it’s not an Olds?

Are you talking about the block when you say the font isnt correct? I’ve seen all kinds of different fonts for block stampings. Just google it, you’ll see many types

Well, don't buy it if you don't feel good about it, especially if you can't inspect it personally prior to purchase.

I Strongly Recommend anyone looking at this car to look elsewhere as I have chosen to do. Why do people have to make it so hard for me to buy their car. I've been looking for years and every car I think is the one, the owner flakes. Buyer BEWARE - I attached a screenshot of the ad on Face Book Market Place
if every one you’ve look at the owner turned out to be a flake,,for years,, maybe it’s not the owners.

The VIN tag looks legit, looks like the bezel was removed to paint the top of dash.

This is what I'm thinking ... OP needs to remember that these cars are over 50 years old and very few of them are going to survive that timespan without something sketchy happening to them.

As for the vin tag rivets, Most of the cars I have seen have the rivets installed from the bottom. If you had a photo from under the dash, I bet you would see star head rivets that were factory installed.

My 68 Toronado:

68 98

My 72 Vista and 72 holiday coupe are the same way.
