455 1971 and HP

Hi guys.

I'm behind a 1971 Cutlass 442.
I would like you to confirm that HP released the 455 from that time since I have read in some pages that its HP is 365, however, I have read in some other that it really is 260hp since in that year its configuration was for gasoline unleaded, so its under compression, therefore its HP.
Could you confirm?
The gearbox that this 442 uses is a TH400 if I'm not wrong.
On the other hand, when I did the first test that engine did not give me the feeling of being powerful. Last year I tested a 1972 Pontiac 455HO and it felt more twitchy.
Thank you.

Regards

An automatic 1971 442 would be equipped with a Turbo 400 transmission.

Here is the Gross versus Net horsepower for the 1971 engines from the 1971 Oldsmobile Power Teams brochure.

Gracias.

Saludos

Joe Padavano - Please decipher the VIN and Cowl Tags. These are from a car I'm looking at. My concern is the VIN tag, Looks too new. Thoughts?

You might get a better response if you start your own thread, rather than piggybacking on a one-and-a-half year old one on a different topic. Also, if you only want input from Joe, you should probably send him a PM and ask nicely, although I don't know if he does command performances.
