Vacuum From Transmission on 1971 Cutlass with 350 Hydramatic

I was looking under my car tonight and noticed a port on the top side of my transmission just beneath the floor pan. It was not hooked to anything but it looked like maybe it would be some sort of vacuum port. I know I have vacuum on the right side of the transmission where the vacuu m regulator is, but does anyone know what this other port is and if it should be hooked to anyting or plugged o something?

I'm not saying for sure. If it's the tube I'm thinking about,on the several transmissions I've changed I've never found any lines running to the tube. So,I've always just assumed it's a vent.

note the catch word "thinking" in my first post

It's the vent tube. Nothing goes to it.
