Universal seat covers?

Greetings. Hope Santa was good to all in readerland.

Number 2 stepdaughter has a 05 Grand Prix with a light tan (almost beige) interior. The interior is in excellent condition other than the wonderful fabric GM used, the kind that rainwater will stain. We have tried numerous times to have the seats cleaned, they look better, but still look filthy.

My wife bought some universal seat covers to hide the stains. As many in readerland know, something advertised as universal fit means it fits NOTHING particular well.

So, my question, does anyone know of seat covers that fit well? Thanks.

Check out Seatcovers Unlimited they do great work on custom fitting seatcovers and they have a decent collection of patterns and colors. I have bought from them for my 1994 and 1996 Cutlass Supreme. Not cheap but not "universal" either.

Here are some well rated options for seat covers. I bought seat covers for my 86 Ford truck from Automotive Interiors and they fit well. However, they are replacement covers that you install with hog rings and pliers, not slip-on covers. Wet Okole and the Covercraft covers are slip on.

I am not sure what brand name my seat covers are on my Lexus. It's old 99. Almost 300k. It has tan-ish sheepskin covers. Best call ever. My seats are leather. Takes all heat away. Had these covers for years.

Okay I have done this with flat gray cloth seats. There is a spray in the can for some cloth seats as long as it is one color. You paint the seats then with a very soft brush you brush it. They will come out looking new. Learned this from a detail shop.

I might look into fabric dye, I have some pretty sharp paint techs at my local A/C Delco/paint supply store.

I’m just not interested a few hundred bucks on cosmetics improvements on a cheap first car. Maybe if the coding were poking thru.
