If you are in a hurry, find a good upholstery shop near you and have custom covers made.

Did you check with Automotive Interiors?

https://www.automotiveinteriors.com/

They probably won't be replicas of the OE covers you could get from Year One... or WalMart, but they won't have a Hello Kitty or Mossy Oak pattern.

Everything is on backorder today. The supply chain is in the toilet. Just-in-time delivery works great to save inventory costs... until it doesn't. I guess I'm surprised that people are still surprised by this.

Amen. Old car parts/vendors are pretty low on the priority list when almost every commodity and raw material for the economy is currently in the dumper. I only hope many of these vendors aren't forced out of business as a result.

Maybe if we start producing goods here we won’t have to wait on no supply chain

JIT (Just In Time) is everywhere and has been. When the suppliers stop producing, the supply chain gets empty.

If you want quality seat covers that look the part--Legendary. I don't know their wait time presently, but I waited 7-months last year for a front seat set.

I agree 100%......Legendary is the company to deal with for the closest to OE appearance, and the best quality interior parts.

What's the hurry? It's winter, almost, so put your order in and they'll be in by spring.

That's a good suggestion.

Here was my situation,
  • No one makes covers for Vista Cruisers.
  • The first two rows had been replaced with generic pleats.
  • I was changing to buckets.
Legendary couldn't sort that out if I gave them years to do so.

Instead, I went to a small upholstery shop in Minneapolis (Topstitch, recommended by my street-rod friends) with a photo of the correct second row seat pattern and asked them to copy the deteriorated, but intact, third row example to all three rows.

They also did the door panels, side panels in rear compartment, and sewed covers for the headrests and armrests

They did a fantastic job; it took only six weeks, which included time to get the materials.

Here are some photos.

The most impressive part of that job might be the headrests. It seems bucket seat headrests never look right with sewn vinyl covers on them instead of the factory vacuum formed covers, but those look AMAZING! along with the rest of the interior.

Thank you both.

I agree about the headrests. I think the sewn covers look cleaner and nicer than the formed factory covers with the fake bead.

That's an advantage when working with a stepchild car model. No one gets after you if a detail isn't worthy.

Thanks Dean and Jesse.

I didn't intend to build a show car, but it turns out that way when experts work on it.

Gene yes legendary is backed up on seat covers and door panels and the wait may be 40 weeks for them right now. Mine I ordered in in August are supposed to be here by April but I’m not holding my breath. The hold up is materials and the assembly. I asked. PUI may have a shorter lead time but I wanted legendary for my resto since I know their products are top notch. Legendary fulfilled my other items already but the seat covers and door panels are very backed up.
