Tilt Steering

Did the 72 Cutlass ever have tilt steering as an option?

Option N33 Tilt-Away (had to have anything other than the standard 3 on the tree unless W39 was ordered which was the Hurst 3-speed floor shifter) $44.00 option

Great! IF possible I'm hoping to find a 72 tilt steering column somewhere to replace the stock column mine has.

I have a column shift tilt steering column. If you wanna floor shift,be prepared for sticker shock. They are pretty expensive. Pm me or call for more info.
Thanks.

Also, please note that '69-'72 should be the same & I believe they are the same for other A-Bodies.

73-77 A-Body is the same except for the arm @ the bottom where the trans rod connects. The 69-72 arm is curved and the 73-77 is straight. Some of the 73-77 columns have the headlight dimmer switch built into the turn signal lever, those are different. I think the curved and straight arms interchange. There were more 73-77 cars with tilt than 69-72 but they are getting hard to find. Ron was correct, all 69-72 GM A-Body columns interchange. If you can find a 69-72 Pontiac Gran Prix,a majority of them had tilt columns and they were almost always F/S.

National Parts Depot has remanufactured tilt columns in their Chevelle catalog for $429.95

Good way to gain some head room.

when swapping a 69-72 a-body tilt wheel from a standard wheel remember that the ingation rod is opposite on tilt. There is need need to cut the harmess, just flip the ignation switch upside down and reverse the connectors. This is only down when converting from a standard to a tilt.
