1968 cutlass Tilt installed into non tilt car

Hello,

I think I know the answer but wanted to double check is a non tilt and tilt wheel wire harness the same? Just a simple plug and play or is there other modifications needed?

Far as I know all GM will interchange within body stye and year range.

Just put one in my '73 2 days ago. Easy as 1-2-3.

Yes, it should plug n play. The bigger question would be where in the hell did you find a '68 tilt column? They're not easy to find and not cheap if you do find one!

I was just curious if they were the same or not as my buddy had bought a tilt and it looks the same as a cutlass and was wondering if they were a plug and play. are the factory tilts better then the aftermarket tilts or are they the same?

I believe 68 is a one year only column so you need to make sure thats what he has.

Let's start again. A FACTORY 1968 tilt column is a bolt-in, plug-in. All bets are off on aftermarket columns. Most of these are based on the later model columns and wiring and may or may not match up to a 68 without some mods.

So what's a factory tilt worth if I'm able to locate one? what's the most you have seen them go for?
