Gas gauge problem here
My gas gauge is way off the meter isn't in the section it should be in can you pls tell me what this could be and what contributes to this and/or how to fix this issue? Thanks in advance
Mine did the same thing. Would turn the ignition on and the needle ended up in about the three o’clock position. Ran a continuity check on the wire from the gauge to the first plug where the tail light, stop light, turn signal, back up light and fuel gauge connect in the trunk and found it OK. Then checked the continuity on the next wire from that plug to the plug that connected to the sending unit and found it OK. Then checked the continuity from that plug through the sending unit to the ground connection and found it good. Reconnected all the plugs and the gauge worked as it should. My problem had to be one of the plug connections was not tight. They should all be that easy right?
