I thought I’d post this here, I made a t top rack last year, it works out nice, if you need a parts list post it here. It was like $50 to make, I’m not sure on the size on the olds cars but the Pontiac F Body fisher tops are big, there’s no place to put them other than in the trunk, the hard plastic Tim on them is like 250$ ea, I have a few no’s sets, but you have to paint them and all that. in the trunk they slide around, Here you just set it in, leaving the lock in the open position for putting back on with ease. Not to mention if you drop a top, I have a y88, they are gold, the run of the mill tops are grey. Gold is pricy,
Silver on the TATA and pace cars, expensive there too.
I lined both the sides that touch with a felt we use in crates for the Auto Show properties. It’s not glued together, just pushed it, also it’s nice to take to the swaps to sell tops, instead of laying expensive tops on the ground.
Jesse I had one new in 82 (Dove Gray Cutlass Supreme). The T tops come with separate padded cases from the factory for storage in the trunk. They never moved around. The storage unit Burd built is great for display or storage outside the trunk but I preferred to have my T tops with the car in case of weather or leaving the car unattended. Honestly the T Tops weren't all that great an option overall. They were prone to air leaks, water leaks and the car had really turbulent air inside when the tops were off and driving even 30 mph.

You may get a little noise from the tops on a f body, but when they are off it’s nice, I don’t drive in the rain.
I forgot I made copy’s of 2 of the the hurst manuals, a bunch of the tech bulletins, I put them in a binder for $45 I have some left I’ll post in the for sale section. It shows all the parts and factory fixes for the Hurst tops.
I was judging the performance N/G body performance class at last years nationals. Some guy had a nice hand built out wood covered in black felt two tier pocket shelf for his t-tops. It looked almost like a factory install. I wish I could have gave him extra points.
I answered a Craigs !ist ad one day, a lady was selling a brand new set of t top bags. Turned out they were fit the sec gen birds. What a score. At $35 too. Date coded 1978 inside.
Yes, I had them on my 82. Wasn't that impressed with them. Took up a lot of storage in the trunk, and the wind in the car with them out? Might just as well have a convertible, except there weren't any that year....
