A couple of wide views of the show field. About the only concession to the virus was the requirement to wear masks. They were afraid that, if health department officials came to the show and saw too many people not wearing masks, they could shut down the show on the spot. In spite of this, I'd say that maybe one-third of the people sitting in chairs by their cars out on the field were not wearing masks.
I think a 50s Rocket given the same treatment would have been even nicer, but at least not sbc or LS in there. And truthfully not much else says Kool like an early Hemi.

True, but seeing how the amazing work of Ross Racing has become a bit more common, even a really super dressed out Olds, wouldn't have the impact of the Hemi. I'm pretty traditional when it comes to building customs, but I do favor modern running gear and chassis mods. Only because I drive the wheels off my cars when done. Not around town, I mean driving out to a weekend show in Salina KS, from NJ! Gotta keep up with traffic on those highways, and be able to stop from those speeds, too!
Of course there are some modern touches on the car that traditionalists would scoff at, but you have to hand it to the builder, for doing a great job technically, and detail-wise. He even got the flavor of a true 50's custom in most aspects, like the billet wheels looking a bit like 56 spinner caps. I would have gone more for wide whites, though, even if they were fake, as in, built into the wheels, like Chris Ryan's Lincoln.
The wheels look to be patterned after the 50s Cutlass dream car and F88 wheels with 56 Fiesta spinners. Nice touch.
Always wondered about tire mounting on those wheels with the whitewall rims. What kind of tire machine would mount low profile tires and not scratch the white coating?
