Spent a week with a Ford Mach-E
My "new" 20 escape needed a new dash. I wanted fixed when I bought it. They thought easy fix but in the end they put in a new dash. They gave me a loaner the electric Mach-e. Some things I liked some I didn't. What I hated the most was the info screen too big and distracting. It also had annoying chime over every little thing. I will admit I might have been to turn it off if I could have figured out the info system. It was nice and quiet and smooth with nice acceleration. I won't get into charging as I only had a 110 volt charger. (was only supposed to have it 2 days not 8).
To be honest it is not for me yet, I am glad I had it and will admit I liked it more than I thought. I also live out in the country with only 4 chargers at a royal farm within 25 miles from me. Defiantly would need a charger at my house. Would like to have less crazy info system. They don't want people to text and drive, so they make huge complicated info system that takes 10-30 seconds to do anything.

There is a fleet of electric fords at my work. Hard to beat the acceleration! Otherwise they are as nice as any new car. I'm not a fan of the screens either. Seems to me the f150s have a less intrusive setup. Its been a minute since I've been in the mach e.
My wife owns a hybrid Toyota Corolla. It has more room than her 2018 Ford Fiesta and gets better mileage. My 25 Kia Sorento is pretty sterile. I might replace it with a hybrid Toyota after a few years. We'll see. 🤔
Too bad it is ugly, a problem with many new vehicles, just unattractive blobs. I actually really like the looks of the new Charger. But all electric is useless here and the car debuting electric first with no V8 planned pissed off the Dodge guys, big time. Dead Dodge garage gave it a positive review, most of the media has been less kind. I will be taking an Inline 6 one for a test drive when they come out, about the only new thing I am remotely interested in. There are way too many low mile failures from multiple manufacturers with their ICE vehicles these days. If range is improved significantly that should help their appeal a lot. Up here, we need true 500 mile range then quick charging to drive the same in a day.
I don't see me ever having an EV. I like the engineering and things like that but I always wondered about those screens. Tesla for certain has set the industry standard (large screens) and what the manufacturers think people want. I for one thought the screens would be a distraction and the OP says I'm right.
I like to be able to fuel up and go in a moment rather than an afternoon. At first the EVs were said to be the answer to pollution. That ship has sailed. Nobody thinks they are environmentally friendly anymore. The footprint to make these cars is at least as large as an Escalade.
Come to think about it, I don't think I'll have a car newer than 2010 for the rest of my life. I'm up there so that is a distinct possibility. Right now rolling a 99 and an 04.

A couple years ago my 2017 Hyundai Sonata needed what turned out to be a new knock sensor. They kindly lent me a almost brand new (100-200 miles on it new) Sonata, not a hybrid just a regular gas car. But the new generation, and I have to say I really hated it. Everything was pushbutton, it was almost like a shuttle from the starship Enterprise but with pedals and a steering wheel. Way too much tech.
The only digital instrument panel I've ever liked was the ones from the 80s and early 90s. They weren't obnoxious, they were visible and easy on the eyes. Unless I'm left with no options for some reason I'll never buy a modern car again.
