Spark plug gap

Spark plug gap

Installing pro comp hei distributor, what should spark plug gap be?

I'd go .045. DON'T get the plugs for HEI as they are set up for an overly wide gap of .080. This was done for emissions and all it did was burn out coils faster.

I changed my 72 to HEI and kept the plugs at the original gap. There are varying points of view on HEI vs points distributors. The HEI I put in works fine, but I'll probably change it back to points dist so I can install my dual snorkel air cleaner. NOTE: if you put in HEI, the stock 4 bbl air cleaner will not fit any more. It will hit the HEI cover.
