Scooped up another cool piece on eBay..

How about a vintage dealer emblem from where my '72 Supreme was originally purchased?

As someone who grew up with these cars in the salty northeast, I rapidly came to detest those emblems. Dealers would pop rivet them onto the trunk lid, which a) made holes in an otherwise good trunk, and b) eventually caused significant rust because they just drilled the metal and riveted with no primer or sealer used. Oh, and the aluminum pop rivets caused galvanic corrosion with the steel trunk lid, accelerating the rust problem.

Mine had holes but no rust fortunately. We were happy when the big stick dealer emblem fell off our Challenger GT. These metal rivet emblems were really intrusive, unless it was a 442 from a known racing dealer, why advertise, for in most cases a dealer who is long gone? Hang it on your shop wall.

Very nice! I was also able to find one for the dealership where mine was originally sold. Cleaned it up a little, I use it for display with my other items at car shows.

^^^^ THIS. Introducing a rust point to a vehicle is just beyond stupid.

I hate dealer emblems and stickers. I typically remove them, as I don't need to advertise the dealership on my vehicle. If it's a license plate bracket, then that's ok. But DO NOT STICK your advertising on my car!!! I've had the salesman remove them before picking up a new car.

Yeah, I've had them removed from every car I've ever purchased. This one is just a display piece that sits with my "spirit" items in the trunk.

My '56 spent most of it's life in dry climates and the dealer nameplate has survived quite nicely- the dealer is long gone....

But Garner Randall was in Amarillo. It gave me a good reason to post a great song.

Surprising no one recalled/remembers the dealership, Frank. Oh well.
