Rebuilt 455

This is my 455 that I rebuilt this pass year. It’s been a long Journey. The boring stuff :It was Bored out .30 over. New pistons. A Howard’s cam and hydraulic roller lifters. Harden sharp roller rockers. With rebuilt G heads. An edelbrock performer and carb to top it off. And yes I painted it gold. I like it that way. Like it or not. I just think it looks better in my red cutlass.

Looks great. Its work but gets fun at this stage. New engine day is the icing on the cake. Hope you get to enjoy it for a long time.

I would paint the harmonic balancer black. Then you can paint white lines at ZERO, 30ş and 35ş Then you'll know what your total timing is and it will be easier to see in daylight. Nice looking engine.

most people can’t tell a 455 from a 350. And most car people know to associate a gold Olds engine with a 350. I like the deception!

All ready to come out

I did a little cleaning up in there.

All ready to go in.

My two great friends that did most of the job for me. I’m a great flash light holder.

Running like a champ!!

I have a couple small things to sort out but she runs great.
