Rag joint

Is there a trick to get the rag joint open enough to get it on the steering shaft?
I have a Lares 200 which states it's 3/4 which matches the shaft diameter but the rag joint inside diameter it's closer to .67
I tried prying the ears open and maybe got an extra hundred or two.

Correct coupler?

Lares 200 = 3/4" 25 Spline Input Shaft
Lares 201 = 13/16" 31 Spline Input Shaft

Tim you could try calling lares directly they might be able to help .They were very good helping me figure out the upgrades to the steering box and coupler on my gbody.they may ask you to physically count the splines on your out put shaft ( not an easy task with my aging eyes)

It looks like you probably received a rag joint for a manual steering box. The measurements inside that you show on the new rag joint match up to some manual box rag joints I have here.

Just got off the line with summit, they are going to measure to verify they don't have a bad batch and get back to me.
I can't imagine the .68 can be stretched to .75

Once again I was wrong.
Talked to Hector who rebuilds the fast ratio boxes (which I got from him) and he sent me the correct coupler which is 13/16 36 spline.

I don't believe you ever stated what vehicle this was for....likewise I'm not certain if you stated the gear box. You're sure about the 36 spline? I thought the Lares 201 was a 31 spline? Post #2
