Project Ideas

As I get close to wrapping up my 69 convertable parade car project, I, having too much time on my hands, been thinking about my next one. Don't laugh, you do too. Any thoughts? Kicking around a W car, or grabbing a holiday to do up to match the vert. Whatch'all got? Gimme some ideas.

VISTAhhhhhhhh.........kinda rolls off the tongue don't it? Buddy of mine in Winston-Salem, NC has one that was born a nasty little quarter horse. Not a bad idea! You know for those days when you just need to make a quick run to the grocery store for ice cream.

I always thought it would really be cool to make a Rallye 350 wagon or convertible. Then you would have one of one.

I want to find a to far gone to restore 68-72 cutlass or a VC and put it on a 4x4 frame with some big 33-35in tires. I want the bottom of the frame at my hip, and my flood pipes to be in your face at a stop light. Call it the Mini Monster

Maybe hang some "nuts" off the hitch to complete the redneck look. if it was a vista you'd have to add a light bar to the rack

Right next to the bumper sticker that says, "these colors don't run" of course My wife won't let me take her perfectly running truck apart for the frame which I think is kinda selfish. So for now it's just a dream...

id like to do an A-body 70s style racer...

high in the front..
cragars
big ones on the back that hang out 2 or 3 inches..with cheater slicks
big yellow a-body ladder bars..
what ever brand it is..use that brand motor...
fenderwell headers
something hanging out the hood
and big lettering all the way down the side..like time machine (olds ref) or loco-motion...or sonmething in prism gold leaf..no VINYL...paint..a little lace paint somewhere..and a cartoon like a rat fink thing on the decklid
and some vintage racing stickers on the 1/4 windows...

and build it with period used.kinda ruff vintage speed shop..barter and trade to do most of the car...keep it cheap..like we did back then...nothing fancy....but really cool...

do a wagon..call it freight train...or something catchy...in other words..not like everyone else...

Met a guy named Joe Brown (I think) in Austin one time with really nice Vista set up with 455 and OAI hood, looked like a true 442 wagon if the factory would have ever done it. His son Steve (AH64pilot) used to be a regular on here and may have posted pics if you do a little searching.
