Getting help with the panel and doing most of the wiring myself.
Thinking 60 amp service should do it. hoping to tie it into the 100 amp service in the other garage.

Read up on your electrical codes. I am not an electrician, I do perform all my own electrical, but I'm nearly certain you cannot leap-frog/piggyback from one unattached structure sub-panel to any other unattached structure without wiring through the main service panel. IOW, you have to have a "direct feed" from the main service panel to each unattached structure. If that's true (I believe it to be true), you'll need a separate dedicated (60A) line from your main service panel to your new building. I haven't validated what I just stated...do your research.

Yes need to do research, but that would suck, due to the fact there is an underground cable between the existing garage and the main house.
yep in conduit, wouldn't be fun but on paper could run a second cable I guess.
Exactly. I think you need 4 AWG Cu or 3 AWG Al for 60A - if you have room in the existing conduit. You can snake quite a significant distance w/ a proper sized wire cable e.g. about the size of a rotor-rooter snake cable.
Ok finally getting close to having a complete shop.
Had the electrical panel put in a few weeks ago.
Spent last week pulling wires and had the electrician connect everything.
Was able to just tap into the old garage.
Asphalt was laid last week unfortunately the septic field is in the way only allowing an apron up front.
They are blowing insulation as I type.
Heat and lift are next on the list.
Time to re-load the wallet before shooting additional Franklins over the bow. I think you said somewhere you're putting in at least one lift? Heating unit(s), next?

I have been busy putting up body shop curtains a little tricky doing it by myself would be impossible without the scissor lift.
Looks like I will have to add the floor sweeps to seal off the bottom.
Very nice, very jealous!
I gotta ask, what's the purpose of the curtains, are they just to section off areas of the garage from one another, dust, etc?

The plan is to use that as the body shop area hopefully it will contain the dust and overspray from painting.
I am going to put an exhaust fan in back corner of the shop and may rig up some kind of duct work to provide negative pressure to that area.
I just got a quote for 450 for floor sweeps that attach and seal the bottom. I may just get a bunch of pool noodles for that purpose and save the $$
With the curtains all pulled to the back corner will minimize the required space when not in use.

Finally got the heater installed this weekend, hopefully will be getting inspected and the tank hooked up this week.
The hvac guy needed a lift so I figured it's a good time to hang the air filtration system in the body shop area that I have been looking at.
