The only personalized plate I have anymore is 7 REBS on the 08 F150 which wears a Sons of Confederate Veterans plate, and I pay $30 extra a year for the SCV plate and personalization. All the old ones have either YOM or state issued antique plates. I've had a lot of fun with plates tho... One of the best was I8JAPAN on the 76 Ninety Eight, and the wagon had a Virginia Tobacco Heritage plate that said TBCO RD (Tobacco Road, get it? still one of the nastiest garage rock songs ever written).I had a 77 Thunderbird with AAQ88 and a buddy refused to ride in the car.

I seen a cool air brush of the Tasmanian Devil in a spin, on the back of a pick up tailgate last summer.
The plate said LOOSENUP.

I don't have a PLP on my Cutlass (yet), but I do on my T/A: BUURRRP.

My inspiration:

(Need to watch the end of the video to see the connection)

For my Cutlass, I've been contemplating "W31ABEE" (W31 Want-a-be),

Not a personalized plate, just a good guy: my insurance/registration agent took great pains to find me one that starts with 442 when I went in to register my new purchase.

I was in Houghton Lake, MI, this past weekend and saw a plate referencing 394 on the back of a Toyota. I was driving and couldn't get a pic. Dammit, I can't remember what the rest of the letters were, and it was definitely not a randomly-issued series of numbers and letters.

If it was an Olds reference, which I suspect it was... why on God's green Earth would you put that personalized plate on a Toyota??????!!!!

EDIT: I think it was 3944EVR.

I transferred my SVNT 442 plates to my 2004 S10 after the wreck. Nobody understood what the plates meant on the car, so I'm not all that worried about them on the truck.
