My grandfather retained all his plates and resided here in Indiana. I run two old cars, soon to be 3, on year of manufacture Indiana plates. I found my original registration for my Monte Carlo in 72, and I put the car's original plate back on it.
I have a 65 cutlass 330 4 speed dual exhaust 4bbl carb car. It has an original 1965 Missouri plate that ends with 442. I do not try to pass it off as a 442, but get a lot of attention because of how it was equipped. Missouri was able to license this plate to my car.
The truck-BGZ GLR...the '57-JLP JKY...The Vette-GLS TGR...wife's 442-EHG 442...my 442 RMG 442...the '68 vert-W8 4ME...Muskrats blue '68 vert-SMR TOI...the Bravada-W8FRME. Ontario will allow up to eight digits/letters but costs big dollars.
I have these on my 1965 442. Took advantage of the new Legacy plates in CA for the original look. Tried to get them to follow the original plate numbering TRU 442, but was still in the system. So I went with this play on words. I think the true Oldsmobile lovers will get it.
Here is what you do when your province won't let you put your family name on your license plate. He lives here in Melville, saw him drive by the other day.
