Part number to look up

i found this part number on wild about cars. i still don't understand what it fits. Just has 71-72 Exc F85 or 6800. it is a rear speaker package. looks to be a 2 rear speaker setup.

Gr 9.665 983271

does anyone have better input as to what it fits?

Hi Eric
Can you post a picture to go with the numbers?

It's just what it says:

6800 is the A-body wagon.
F-85 is the low-trim A-body.

That speaker package will fit all 1971 to 1972 Oldsmobiles, except for F-85s (which were not equipped that way) and station wagons (which had different bodies and did not have provisions for those speakers).

Someone on this site has a car with that setup. I've seen a picture with two speakers on each side, in the rear window. I didn't realize it was a factory feature?

The 74 parts book lists that number as "speaker package, rear seat" for:

71-72 except F85 (Olds parts books refer to all A-body cars thru 1972 as F85) or 6800 (Custom Cruiser wagon which is a B-body in spite of its size and Ninety Eight level trim)

and also for 1973 BL, BN, C, E (BL= Delta, BN= Royale, C= Ninety Eight, E= Toronado)

So- the package will fit all 1971-73 Delta 88, Ninety Eight and Toronado. It cost $16.40 in 1974.

Hope this clears things up for you, Eric.

That makes more sense, RocketRaider.

Thanks.
