Part name and part number
Hi,
I have a Olds 71 Cutlass.
Recently I have problems with oil leakage of my transmission. I repaired the gasket of the oilpan of the transmission but I've noticed that another part is also causing the leakage on near the oilpan.
Now I'm not speaking english and so I don't know that correct name of the part that I'm looking after.
Can somebody tell me the correct name and maybe the partnumber(s) so that I can order this part(s).
Were is the best place to order parts for a oldsmobile (and do they ship to Europe)
I've attached a picture with the part that is causing the leakage.
Regards Peter-Jan

Hi Peter,
Looks like you need the "shift shaft seal"!
BCA/NATIONAL Part # 8792S
Fits THM350, THM350C, THM400 3 Spd. Automatic
They press fit in, so since they are cheap, I would get two in case you damage it during installation. A deep socket and a rubber mallet should hit it home.
Rockauto has them for $3.58 USD
How do the other seals on the tranny look? How about around the speedometer cable connection? I bought a whole bag o' seals to reseal my leaky tranny...
They do ship internationally, but I am not sure about cost to Belgium.
If high, look up your car and see what else you need to maximize the shipping value. They have LOTS of stuff for our cars!
Rockauto rocks!

Hi,
Thanks for the response. Yeah I think I need to order a whole bag of o' seals. Do you have the correct part number for the Cutlass 1971?
Does the bag also include the gasket for the oilpan of the transmission?
many Regards
