Oldsmobile W-Machine Show Case @ MCACN V
#201
Talking to the wife, We are thinking about it. With not getting to go to the Oldsmobile nationals this past July we are tossing around the idea of taking our 4 speed Jetfire for the Hidden Gems section. I was contacted today to see if we could bring it. Is anyone else going from here?

I will take some pictures, or dig up ones from when I bought the car in 1988. Came from a small rural town in Indiana. The only time I have shown the car at an Olds event was for one day at the Olds Nationals in Springfield, IL in about 1997-1998? Car has been primarily stored.

Not Oldsmobile but my brother will be there with his 1969 Ford factory race tem Mustang driven by Hubert Platt. It will be the first time the car has been shown in public outside of a small local show. I can't wait to be there!

Thanks for hooking us up with your brother, he has some very Kool cars. I'm looking forward to checking out the Mustang as well. There will be some serious Ford Hardware there this year. Cobras , GT40s and more.
This is NOT just another car show, mits a bucket list event, for a car guy or gal!

Matador red with black bucket seats, black stripes and top, steel wheels with dog dish caps, console, dualgate, tilt steering wheel, power windows, power drivers seat, rally pac, tinted windshield, 3.91 rear, yet no power steering, power brakes, or air conditioning. Full documentation, 64,000 miles. The car is brutally fast. It was ordered by the original owner, and paid for with an insurance check after he totaled his '70 Road Runner. The original owner rented a gas station in small Indiana town, and fell behind in his rent. The W-30 was given to Owner #2 in 1972, in lieu of owed rent. A friend of mine told me about the car (he worked with Owner #2), and I became Owner #3 in 1988. The car was stored in a barn so technically it was a "barn find". When I bought the car, and drove it home it was sitting on a set of (bald) polyglas tires. Will dig up some pics from 1988.

I would love to go to an event like this. I've got a new appreciation for the guys that restore these rides. And I've probably only done 5% of what they do. I'm sure everyone is going to really enjoy themselves. Where else can you get this much variety in one place? Probably nowhere.
