Can't make the show but would be interested in tickets to the givaway. Do you need to be present to win? I'm feeling lucky

Thanks for asking. No...you do not have to be present to win, but we do hope the winner is present!

Just so that everyone knows...

We really appreciate all the support from our patrons, however due to liability as well as other reasons, only those showing their cars and their guests in each of the respective special displays are to be allowed into these display areas. These special displays are stanchioned with 12" high stanchioning around the perimeter of the displays to protect these cars. There will be thousands upon thousands of people viewing the cars and out of respect to the owners of these cars, we must do our best to enforce the rules and assure a comfort level for our car owner/participants.

Thanks!

Back in 1969, Hurst built 3 1969 Olds Cutlass convertibles to showcase their shifters, and they brought the lovely Linda Vaughn along to add to the over-the-top presentation. One burned, one is accounted for, but the 3rd went missing. These Oldsmobiles are far beyond the regular 442, as they featured a 455 cube big block Olds under the hood, backed by a 4-Speed shifted by - of course - a Hurst shifter........
And I'll add that it's a beautiful and very special car in Olds history

There were definitely many knowledgeable individuals involved with this car.

Gary performed a wonderful restoration.

However, we do live in an imperfect world and mere mortals will make mistakes now and again.

You would think that if you are writing copy to be included in brochures being sent all over about this event and/or this magnificent car, they would at least have a car guy doing it. I think EVERYBODY knows none of these cars were 4 speeds. My daughter writes professional press releases, etc. I showed her this poor example of the description. She said one word, "Sloppy." However as mentioned above, people make mistakes. I am so jacked for this show I can't tell you. It is one of the highlights of my year, every year. If it wasn't in Chicago I would fly to wherever it was. The quality of the cars is unmatched anywhere. This is an example of the excellence being brought from around the country, a 1969 442 W-30 4 Speed Convertible.

The '69 W-30 Convertible 4speed belongs to a friend and supporter of our show. It was formerly from the Milt Robson collection.

Muscle Car of the Week, is a program by Kevin Oeste. He does a great overall job and his videos are entertaining and informative. It is not an advertisement put on by MCACN. While he was at the show to film the unveiling of the car, he is an independent entity.

Stop by and say hello, see you at the show.

All I can say is...if you are an Oldsmobile fan, you are going to LOVE this years show.

Mores Oldsmobiles than ever, (even more than when we did the big Hurst display!) and without a doubt some of the absolute finest and rarest from all over the country.

Wish I could come with my award winning 70' F85 W-31, Rally Red, with a 4 speed, but I am already committed to the Turkey Rod Run in Daytona Bch. Thanksgiving week.

I did not know about the Olds W Show Case! If I had known several months back I would have changed plans. It is a 1300 mile trip for me from Florida. I have a niece and a nephew in Chi-town.

Looking forward to seeing all the great Oldsmobiles. Arriving Friday, with my brother in tow.
He's a 49 Merc pick up owner,(immaculate), but he appreciates fine cars too.

Please post some pics of your car.

Your profile location reads "Canada"....care to narrow it down?

Paul's W-30 is a special car indeed and we are very happy to have it in the W-Machine display.

I too can't wait to see it in person.

I'll let you borrow a pair of my horse blinders so that all the other wonderful and magnificent W-Machines in the display don't spoil your visit

Personally, I think too much is made of the 70-72 cars and not enough made about the 66-69 cars. The 66 W30 is one of the rarest and most important Oldsmobiles ever made, and most people there wont know what it is.

well, 1970 being the pinnacle year for muscle cars {highest HP/TQ and biggest motors}. I kind of get it. i don't care who makes it and what year it is. as long as its slick looking and has a hot rod motor i dig it!!!

Jasen, I realize you are a little biased towards the early cars, and I couldn't agree more about the '66s being special and could go unrecognized, but I do have to disagree with the '68 and '69 W-30s. With all due respect, (I'm not saying this 'cause I have one)the '68 and '69 W-31s were better suited for drag racing and "stop light " street racing than the 400 cu.in. engines those two years.

That I Will agree on, Stefano. Now, are you getting the "K" in Kool from the "K" in all those Kool "Krates"--- you know the neat Schwinns?
I really wish I could be there, but I'll be cruising my way to the Caribbean (again)!

I like to see different cars. Stairway to Heaven is cool, but not after the 1,000,000th time you heard it. Ive seen enough 70-72 W30s to last me a while.

Its pretty much common knowledge among Olds guys that the 68-69 442s didnt run. Doesnt mean they have to be banished to the shadows does it Dave?

Odd ball, unsung, and B side muscle is what I like. Stuff you dont see at every car show. I know Im in the minority but I like what I like.

I think alot of this is money driven, the 70-72 W30s command high dollars so you see them everywhere you go.

Who said anything about banishing them. No hard feelings on this end at all and no anymosity. I love ALL Oldsmobiles and I think everyone knows it, especially the people here. I was merely stating that the '68 and '69 W-30s weren't as potent as their "brothers". I'm with you loud and clear on the odd stuff---your Club Coupe, my Post "S" W-31 are prime examples, but I have to say that in my opinion, the '70-'72 442 body style is without a doubt one of the best designs to come out of GM.
Thanks Stefano for the kind words. I'll be thinking about that car show.

hey dave, yes the mcacn will be the unveiling of the car. not to much on details other than its a 1970 442 y-74 pace car matching drive train. this is my wifes car that she is in love with and she cannot wait for the show! I give a huge amount of respect to anyone who's done a frame off restoration weather in your garage or at a top flight shop. this is a HUGE undertaking. I truly hope the car represents itself well in a show that will have some of the best in the nation. also hoping the w-30 guys don't form a posse and tear the red fenderwells off the pacecar. looking forward to maybe meeting a few co members!

I love the pace cars (went to he Indy 500 25 years in a row), and think it's cool your wife is a "Olds Gal ". I agree with you about the frame-off, I'm 99.99999% finished a '72 442. Congrats on the completion and don't worry, the W-30 guys will welcome you with open arms.
