Oil question

Mobile one 10W-40. I inadvertently bought the one marked specifically for high mileage cars. Which in this case is probably appropriate. I've never used an oil labeled as such and I don't mind as long as there are no downsides to doing so. Opinions?

Ty. One more question actually. I bought a wix filter and they had another one that would fit my car that was "taller". I guess the theory here being you could possibly keep a little more oil in the motor as well as there would be a little more filter surface area.

Is this a good idea?

The recommended Wix filter is 51258. I use 51049 which is about an inch taller. It fits fine with manifolds. Fitment with headers depends on the specific design of the headers and tube routing.

I'm not concerned as to whether or not they're high mileage mix is a true benefit or not. I just wanted to make sure it wasn't going to do any damage and save myself a trip back to the store lol

What’s considered high mileage today? Years ago 100,000 was high mileage but today 100,000 miles is just getting broke in.

It'll be fine.
The Wix 51049 fits with my Hooker headers, too.

The REAL question is: is Mobil 1 safe for flat tappet camshafts?

I actually do not know the mileage on the motor because it is a transplant.

Hi mileage for these cars back in the day was 60,000 miles. Mostly due to the required timing set replacement and they usually needed front end work.

The Mobil web site shows Mobil 1 High Mileage 10w-40 has 1,000 ppm ZDDP, 800 ppm phosphorus, 900 ppm zinc. Dunno if that makes it safe for flat tappet cams or not as I don't know what the minimum amounts of those are needed.
