No spark at the points.

Anyone ever had a problem with
power at the points, but no spark
between the gap?
It's like they are not grounded.
And no, the gap is not to wide
or too closed. New Sorenson coil as well.

Do you think a little grease under the base
of the points could help?

Could be grease or possibly the condenser.

Well I now have a weak spark
with the points almost closed.
Short bursts at best.

I have a full 'bulb' my voltmeter
crapped out. Using a test light.

When I check the resistor wire
going to the starter solinoid,
the bulb goes dim. This is the
yellow w/black stripe.
Starter seem to have no issues,
but I am leaning towards the solinoid.
I will see if I have another condensor.
The one on it is new.

Side note: The red wire coming from
the other side is my remote starter wire.
The one going to purple on the solinid.

Just came back from round the block.
I guess the new condensor out of the box
was a piece. Dwell at *28, and rooma zoom zoom.
Thanks for the response Eric.

No problem, set your dwell at 30, then advance your timing a few degrees. Your engine will thank you.
