New PayPal scam using old tracking numbers
New PayPal scam using old tracking numbers
So the wife was shopping online looking for a porch swing. They had one for $100 on amazon but she was looking for what else was out there. On google when you search for something it gives you shopping options. She saw a picture of the same swing amazon had for less then half price with free shipping. She googled the website, everything seemed legit. She paid with PayPal for the buyer protection just in case. This was on 5/26. The next morning 5/27 we were sent a tracking number saying our item had been shipped. So I tracked the number. It said it was shipped 5/8 and scanned several times on the way and finally delivered to my city(with no specific address available through the USPS system) on 5/18. More then a full week before we even ordered it. I filed a dispute with PayPal and this morning I was notified that my claim was denied because the seller provided tracking info saying it was delivered. I tried to talk to somebody at PayPal but their customer service is closed right now. I’m going to call my bank and see if there is anything else they can do.
If you paid with a credit card, check with the issuer to see as some have fraud protection. You may can do a charge back. There's no friggin' way they could have sent it to you a week before you ordered it. PayPal is retarded if they denied it just because they provided a tracking number. Details matter.
FU*K PayPal.
FU*K PayPal.
I just heard of another ebay scam - lady I l know sold on ebay and after it was Final Sold she got an email; saying I bought it and ship to THIS address so she did - BUT the Email was NOT from the buyer and she was tricked ... she is still dealing with it ...
As far as Paypal goes, I'm still waiting for shipment payed to them for items being exported from France, for now longer than a decade. Paypal is also politically biased which is just another reason for not supporting their double morality
There is also a fraud in the reverse. Someone shows up at your door to buy something you have for sale. They say they don't have the money on them but can Pay Pal you the money while standing there. They pay and then take the item and leave. They later make a claim that you did not ship the item and since you can't provide a tracking number then they get the money back. Pay Pal them selves told me this is happening and that they will not change the policy to prevent it from happening. I not longer take Pay Pal other than Friends and Family only. If I loose a sale over it then so be it.

I have taken to recording items while I box them up so that I have documented proof of what I'm sending. I will then upload the video to YouTube and send the buyer a link.
There are just too many scammers out there these days and you just need to CYA to the Nth degree.
I would take a picture of the transaction with the person to prove that it was handed off to the person in question with the PayPal transaction in the picture. Video would be better.

Same concept here. If you are going to use paypal, ship it with a tracking number. No handoffs. Too bad, so sad. Buyer don't like it? Tough titty. Go shop somewhere else.
I use Paypal for nearly all my online transactions. On the very rare occasions I had a problem with undelivered or faulty goods Paypal came out to bat for me. Every time I was reimbursed the full amount. I dare say UK and USA consumer laws vay in details, it may be different in this case, or possibly Paypals UK policy is diffferent.

These Scamers are out there everywhere. This game is to keep your money in their account for 30/90 days before they have to refund. Do this a thousand times a week your bank balance is BIG$$$. They live off the interest and credit line.
