Excellent! Are you having the OE carburetor rebuilt, buying an aftermarket replacement, or buying a carburetor from the parts store?

I’m gonna buy an edlebrock, I like the location of the mixer and idle screws and it’ll be easier to work on if need be.

To each their own, but the CCC Quadrajet was designed for your engine/vehicle and tuning of the carb is outlined in the CSM. I hope you know how to tune an Edelbrock for this engine or you could me in for a world of hurt. I hope you've thought this through. Good Luck.

I did not know about this. Thank you! I haven’t made any purchases as of yet, so it looks like i’m getting a new quadrajet.

I hope you have purchased and own the Chassis Service Manual (CSM) for your vehicle. It is your bible for everything mechanical for your car. It contains precise tuning of the carburetor - it's your go-to number one source. If you don't own the CSM, now is a good time to purchase that absolute must-have. There are several threads/posts regarding your carburetor and the 3.8 - you might perform some searches to get acquainted while you're expanding your knowledge base regarding the carburetor and tuning of the carburetor. I'll provide you w/ a quick URL link for one such post. The CCC Quadrajet (as I said) was designed/engineered for this engine. Owning the correct carburetor and knowing you have a knowledgeable source of information (the OEM CSM), you'll be miles ahead.

1986 Cutlass Supreme 3.8L - what is this connector?

With the CCC system you can't just change the carb, you'll also need to change the distributor and make some other mods.

^^^THIS^^^

Replacing a CCC Quadrajet isn't as easy as buying an Edelbrock/Holley from Summit and installing it.
