Mixing Chevy & Olds Parts

Does anyone know of an ad advertising a book/mag showing which chevy parts can be used on Olds. Specifically 1950 Olds brakes?

Welcome to the site, there are parts that interchange and hopefully some of the 50's guys can point you in the right direction.

You can use the Hollander Interchange Manual (an old one) or try matching part numbers from the Olds & Chevy parts books. Here's what my old Hollander shows:
Wheel cylinders: interchange with other Olds years only (1950-56).
Master cylinder (non-power): interchange with Olds & Pontiac only (1939-54).
Brake drum: My 29th edition only goes back to 1952. These exchange up to 1956 with Olds only.
Brake shoes: If the fronts are 11" x 2-1/2" there are interchanges with various years of Hudson, Mercury, Nash, Olds, Packard, Cadillac, Pontiac, & Lincoln. (Some linings vary.); no exchange with Chevy.
The rears will interchange with various years of Chevy 1/2 ton truck, GMC truck, Hudson, Nash, Olds, & Packard.
Hubs: interchange with other years of Olds (none with Chevy)
While some other parts will exchange between Olds & Chevy, in 1950 each division's products were much more unique than in later years.
