Something amiss is making mixing...

I've had oil and coolant and various other fluids go where they're not supposed to but today I had a new one: the oil smells strongly of fuel.

Pop off the oil filler cap and it smells just like the gas cap. I swapped out all the oil (and the filter) and after just a week it smelled like Shell's finest.

Her 307's been pumping a fuel-smell exhaust since I bought her, but this is the first time the oil itself has been "flavored" this way.

Gasoline in the oil's a new one for me. Ideas?...

might be time for a new fuel pump. the diaphragm in the pump is probably worn out and fuel is leaking into the block.

you'll want to attend to that right away, and change the oil and filter.

which is very rare on a qj past 1967, unless the bowl has corroded severely-the spun-in plugs don't leak.
