Lock Linkage Rod

Hello All,

Well I finally got the cruiser back from the body shop. They did a great job. My only issues that I have had is that they took a lot of interior parts apart and handed me a box of bolts. The only other issue is that they seem to have lost my drivers side lock linkage rod. Does anyone know where I can get one?

Also, is there a source out there for the various clips and hardware for molding?

Thanks,
Jim

Jim, I hope the body shop gave you a discount. Loosing a customer's parts is definitely bad.

You can probably get another linkage rod from any similar year Cutlass or Vista Cruiser. For trim clips try these folks. I've never used them before but they came up with a quick Google search:

http://bresco.com/index.html

I did order stainless trim clips from a web provider. I need to dig through my receipts and give you the name of the website.

I was wondering if a 66/67 cutlass rod would be the same. I would assume definitely on the four door versions and possibly the two doors as well.

Thanks,
Jim

Four door sedan front doors are exactly the same as Vista front doors. If you can show me exactly which rod you need, I have a 67 Vista parts car.

Joe,

That would be awesome. I will take a picture of the passenger side tonight.

Thanks,
Jim

Joe,

Here are a couple of pictures. I wanted to take the rod out but it requires you to take out the latch assembly. It was freaking cold last night here in upstate NY and I didn't have time for it.

This is the passenger front, I need the Driver front. It is only about 9 inched long. It has a clip (I tok this one off) but I'm not sure why since it the rod can't be removed without dropping the latch assy.

Also, you wouldn't happen to have a tailgate torsion bar would you? Mine snapped due to a rusted section.

So that's the rod that the lock **** screws onto? No problem, but it will likely be this weekend before I can snag it. Let me check on the torsion bar.

Joe,

Yes it is the rod the **** goes on. No worries about time. I've got a ways to go before it hits the road again.

Thanks,
Jim
