Just bought a 1970 442

Hello,

I have been a member of the board for the past few years, and finally made the move to purchase a 1970 442. The car was originally burgundy mist with a black interior and came with W25 hood, AC, Gauge Pac, and dualgate. Below are a couple of pictures:

I am planning to do a frame on restoration. The car has rust in the sail panel, trunk lip, and trunk floor, but the rear quarters are solid. I found a guy in CT that has two 1970 fenders for sale and a drivers door, so I am going to start gathering up all the pieces.

Nice car. Good luck with the parts hunting, that's my favorite part about it.

I am pretty excited about the car. I had a chance to buy couldn't get the wife to agree. The car got sold and the new owner started collecting parts, but decided to restore a 67 cutlass instead, and agreed to sell it to me. We are both happy to see it going to a good home.

What plant was it built at? Would be great to find a buildsheet for a well optioned car like that.

Your previous owner knew it was a special car, he didn't cut the dash for a DIN size CD player, but instead mounted it in a box under dash. You bought a very good car to start with and it is well worth spending good money on, Good for You!

Someone local is selling front and rear 1970 door panels really cheap. According to the guy selling them, they were produced by legendary, and were later installed in a 1969 442. Do you know if all the wholes are the same between 1969 and 1970? I am just trying to save an hour drive each way to find out the crank or armrest wholes are in a different place.
