Smile Just bought a 69 olds 442 conv automatic.

Hello Folks!! I figure there is literally centuries of experience with Olds classic cars right here on these pages. I am starting from scratch with Olds. I owned a new 70 GTO with the 400 engine and hurst 4 speed manual. It was a great car and I was in the Air Force at the time and guys had these and 442's to run around in. I am not a stranger to working on cars and engines after keeping my three kids in college cars for quite a few years. Now it is time to have some fun. My oldest son and I put together a Factory 5 Shelby 427 Cobra Replica which I will never sell. It was a fun project for both of us and we take a lot of pride in our product. It's a Hoot to drive. I intend to make the 442 a Hoot to drive as well. I've got a problem with the engine right now. I guess I need to wander over to the technical website and see if anyone can help me figure out what is wrong with my 455 in this 69 442. I am happy to be a new member of this Classic Olds bunch!

Welcome and good luck with your 69. I'm sure some one can help you out.

We like pics, so post a few so we can see what your workin' on.

It'll be ok if you post a pic of the Shelby too....just this once.

Welcome to the site! It sounds like you picked a nice car to build. Will you be making a post in the big block or 442 section describing your problems?

Great to have you at this site. There is a world of knowledge here, so use it - I did, and it paid off ten fold, not to mention the neat people you get to know personally. Post some pictures when you can!
