It's going to live just a little longer.

I got this car last summer. Other than the body it is a very unmolested car. I got it for references when i assemble my W-30. I will part it out but want to keep it intact till I do assemble the W-30. Our transmission went out on our van so I decided to get this going and drive it back and forth to work till I get the van back. After pulling the starter and working on the starter cable it fired right up. I added 3 quarts of transmission fluid and changed the tires and wheels and now it drives somewhat ok. Now the brakes are another story. I have one wheel with good brakes. Work is only 4 miles and it is all back country roads right up to the shop where i work. It is going to be exciting mornings driving to work for a while. I just need to change 3 headlights and i will be ready to go. The guys at work will have fun poking fun at me and the beater.

Once you start driving a classic as your daily ... it's real tough to go back

How can they measure success? Not by a car that's already 44 years old? That car is probably older and more reliable than they are. Enjoy it till you have to part it out.

It actually looks pretty decent in the pics, even though I know there's rot in the quarters.

Too bad someone drilled an antenna hole in the RF fender.

Sounds like you could use a good brake flush/bleed. Yea, keep it going.

They used to laugh and poke fun at me for driving my beater to school. I teach school. Now I laugh at them!

Too bad you are going to part it out. Any way to sell it to someone who wants to save a little piece of car history and make a little profit? Is there a market for that where you live?

I want a post car and If I where to buy that car I would literally take the drivetrain out of my 72 and put it in that post car and have some fun . I would use black steel wheels and whitewalls though fot that super beater look lol. Or some really rusty crusty cragars or old mag wheels nothing screams beater like old rusty cragars lol.
