Interesting VIN Tag
FWIW, the selling dealer says "The car is titled in PA and we have a copy of the title and it does show that the car has a reissued VIN."
It’s a replacement vin. I’m sure there’s paperwork documentation for it.
The state issues these. Car is inspected. Ownership is verified. Title is verified. And a new vin tag applied to the car BY the state inspection agent.

If PA re-issues a vin then it means the car was wrecked or salvaged. The state has a rigorous process to certify the car.
Probably not the end of the world when buying the car, but likely a deal breaker for most potential future buyers when you go to sell it..

This thread has some great production info on the 1964 442s. Note that the earliest documented production date is first week of March 1964 (03A date code on the cowl tag).
