Information about my Cutlass?

Good afternoon everyone. I’m in Ontario Canada and was trying to get some information about my 69 cutlass. I sent information for a Heritage Certificate to a company in Oshawa Ontario. They replied a couple days later that the car was not
sold as new in Canada and that they had no information about it. The car was built in the Lansing Factory. Does anyone know if there are any other companies that can help me out with this problem?
Fingers crossed. Have a good day. Thanks

Nope. The best that you can do is the limited info on the data tag, otherwise you need an original window sticker, build sheet, or invoice.

Oldsmobile began keeping records starting with the 1977 model year for U.S.-built cars.

Yes unfortunately.

Wabasto you've owned your baby since 1973, no paperwork ?

She is rare no matter what.

Now break it down per transmission. The concept of convertible leans towards cruiser leans towards automatic, so fair to assume most were.

Then you have this from a literary expert and automotive journalist Diego Rosenberg.

I don't think Olds kept production records down to the level of how many had this or that transmission.

As far as Diego Rosenberg, why on earth would anyone hoard information they had about transmission use? Is the information valuable in some way? Makes no sense.

You are looking at the words too deeply. He is just doubling down on the fact that the information is not readily available.

Some stuff does slip though the cracks. Like the Mandrick report that confirms 1970 Oldsmobile engines true power output.

Unfortunately not to the extent you are interested in.

Here is what comes up on an actual 69 Cutlass Convertible vin.

How long have you owned it? You could try some good old fashioned detective work. Who did you buy it from? Try to track down previous owners, if possible, until the trail runs cold.

I bought it from an older gentleman back in 1973. Unfortunately the trail has gone dry.

Understood.

You bought it so close to new I would assume it is what it was born as. Are you concerned with specs ? Both the 2bbl and 4bbl 350s could be had 4 speed.

Do you recall mileage when purchased ?

If you are trying to get an idea of what its worth.

1969 mint condition max value

Cutlass S = $22,600 (original msrp $2672)
Convertible = $38,400 (original msrp $3109)

That's base model to base model, JD Power and Associates valuator.

Thanks for running the vin. Exactly what I was expecting. I will post a little more info and pics later today when I get a chance. I had written a novel and attached a few pictures a couple hours ago and it disappeared into the void. Paul m

You can also check under the rear seat for the Fisher Broadcast card. If it's there it will be hog ringed to the springs. It will list options installed at Fisher

It looks like this:
