I sold my 69

I decided to sell my 69 Cutlass since I just don't have time to finish the restoration. Still had to finish welding in some metal and then paint it. So I figured I'd put it up for sale and try to see what I would get for it. Well, it sold in 3 days for what I was asking for it. So now that I am going through Cutlass withdrawal, I'll have to look for another one that doesn't need so much work. I'll keep you guys posted.

I've been told Cutlass withdrawal is nothing to mess with

You'd better find a replacement soon or risk loosing your sanity

Do you have a brother-in-law with a car hauler? There's a lot of nice iron still here in the Pacific Northwest. John

Yeah I agree but my wife was happy to see it go. She kept complaining I was spending too much time with my mistress

I wish I knew someone with a car hauler. I am looking at a couple of cars in the midwest, a Riviera and a Cutlass. Both are pretty much done. I really prefer to restore them myself but time is the main issue. Either way, if I buy something I will have to get it back here.

John,

I have to say you have quite a collection of cars listed in your sig. Maybe if I show my wife your list she won't give me a hard time getting another one!

To be honest I think he has another whole building packed full of Oldsmobiles. There was more pictures on ROP but the hosting site took them off because they were so old.

What was old the pics or the cars? Anyhow he could start his own dealership Imagine what they would look like if he spent the money Jay Leno spent on his cars Even jamesbo would be drooling walking around that place

The pictures sorry I should of made it more clear. But if he spent Jay Leno money on those cars I think I would have to change my pants every time I walked around another corner

All I can say is wow! What a collection. It would be a full time job just cleaning and maintaining all of them. I showed the pictures to my wife and she told me I know some really sick people. I just smiled and told her there is no cure for our disease.

Nope... No cure! I'm going through Cutlass withdrawl, and it ain't pleasant! I put the prettiest one out in the other garage for the winter, and she's sitting there waiting patiently for a nice coat of wax before she gets her new blankie put on and gets all tucked in!
Wanna buy a nice Intrigue??? LOL!

That's an amazing collection. It's just nice to see a large number of old Oldsmobiles not being crushed or allowed to rot somewhere.

OK, now be honest. Aren't you the slightest bit concerned that you didn't ask enough for it?

I did sell it for less than what I had into it but I still think I did pretty well. Unfortunately, a regular fair Cutlass like mine even completely minted out still does not sell for that much compared to a Chevelle, Camaro, Barracuda, etc. in the same condition. At least 442's or convertible Cutlasses sell for decent money. Besides, I saw cars like mine sell on ebay for only 1k-3k more than mine that were pretty finished.

I have seen that collection. So many cars he buys complete and pays big money. I will give him credit, he is def the guy you want to sell are car to because he has no conception of value. Only thing is that he apparently takes everything apart and never puts it back together or doesn't know how. All in all a very nice guy.

Here's the place with even more cars in it. I took this in about 2005........and don't let his clammer background fool you. He knows exactly what his cars are worth.
