Ignition switch

whats the best way to remove the ignition switch on a 64 f85? the owner has misplaced his keys.

Welcome to the site. The key is required to do this without destroying the locking barrel. If you are replacing the switch, you might be able to jam a screwdriver in there and manhandle the switch to turn to the accy side. Then stick a paper clip in the little hole in the front of the switch and twist the tumbler farther to the left until the tumbler slides out the front. Then unscrew the lock nut and slide the switch out the back.

If your not replacing the switch then you need the key code off another lock that uses the same key. Then you can get a new key made that fits.

Welcome. See my reply to your PM. If the locks are original, the door lock cylinder code will be the same as the ignition lock cylinder and can be used to make a key.
