Can anyone give me some pointers on changing my ignition switch on my 72.

 

Are you talking about the electrical switch or the key lock? If the key lock, 1969-90 are all the same. See this post:

If you mean the electrical switch, you need to drop the steering column. The switch is mounted to the top side of the column.
