That's TERRIBLE in my Frank Caliendo voice impersonating Charles Barkley. I checked out the 1972 Olds Hurst pace car for sale on there. It was pretty sweet though. I can't believe people who "chop" the coolest cars.

If you must chop something go get some wood, rather than ruin something. Andy

I have no problem with radical customs chopped, sectioned, nosed , decked bring it on. The problem is you can't do that to a mid 60's car. A car has to be late 50's or older to pull it off. All this did was make a decent car easy to load on a trailer by hand a piece at a time to take to the scales.

That is sick and wrong. Sacrilige. I can't think of what the heck he was thinking. It looks like a bad acid trip that he started working on it in the middle of. I think chopping any car is way overdone, and that car was perfectly proportioned stock. Just sad!

Now personally I don't like the design but thats just my opinion.

Why is it though that its ok to do this to a 50's and earlier vehicle but not a 60's-70's car??? The whole point of doing it to an early vehicle was to make something different and new. Its no different doing it on and newer vehicle.

If its not to your taste that fine but don't say they are doing something wrong just because you wouldn't do it yourself and you happen to like the stock vehicle appearance.

That's a lot of work. Maybe they realized that mid project.

I'd love to do that to a 49 Cadillac, but wouldn't want to do a 60's cutlass.

So basically this yahoo chopped up a perfectly good car and suddenly realized he didn't have the skill to finish it. Lotsa luck...

On the other hand, I would love to have this: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...40733780591026

The price doesn't seem out of line. Anyone else? Too far away for me.

I would hazard a guess it was at a shop, ran out of money and has been sitting outside for a year or two. There is no way you could leave that lay in a suburban driveway in any city I can think of without a nice letter showing up.

Because it not right period. To start out with later cars have curved tempered glass that can't be cut. Its also when the manufactures started really putting body lines and distinct shapes into cars. Its very difficult to alter the lines radically and still make it look right. On the other hand 50's cars have such smooth transitions that you can take a car and slice it up and get rolling art. This is the reason you very rarely see a serious custom made from a mid 60's and up car. Do a little digging on the history of customs and you will see what I mean.

He should of put down the bong long before it got that far.
"Hey man....look at my ride...wouldn't it be cool if!??".
It didn't sell, got to 510 bucks.
I think he just wants to get the cost of the wheels and tires back, the car is priceless.

They mostly were not radical alterations in the body shape. They were big wheel flares, custom front and rear facia with wild paint jobs. Corvette Summer was the sh*t
