Hurst His & Her Shifter

Hurst His & Her Shifter
I recently picked up a Hurst his and her shifter. I was lucky enough to have found it on Craigslist in North Carolina where I have friends. So I was able to make a deal over the phone and my friend picked it up and paid for it for me. Unfortunately, my buddy failed to secure the console in the bed of the truck and it flew out the rear as he drove down the highway. Fortunately, the shifter and the console top panels were inside the cab of the truck. So the loss is minimum.
But without the original console I don't have a template to use a guide for modifying the console inside my 442.
1. I need instructions on how to cut my console so the shifter fits. I think I see a guideline on the inside of the console.
2. Will my stock floor shift cable hook up to the Hurst shifter, or do I need to find a specific cable for this application?
3. Where can I find the specific Hurst handle to mount to the top of this Hurst shifter?
Thanks

X2, Its actually pretty easy, I've done it a couple times.
You do need a different shifter cable for a dual gate shifter, its shorter?
The 70-72 Hurst shifters use a black ball on top of the shifter handle, not a "T" handle.

The Parts Place is probably the cheapest for the ball and cable.
I used a dermel type tool with a cutting disc to cut the console. Actually it was the rotary tool from Harbor Fright Tools.

Easy enough! I have a dremel tool with cutting blades.
The Parts Place! Cool! I was worried that I'd be hunting for parts for awhile in order to finish this project.
Thanks

I just bought the shifter cable from the Parts Place via Ebay, and a somewhat expensive shifter ball from another Ebay seller. When everything comes in I'll get it all installed in the convertible and let everyone know how it turned out.
The Turbo 400 is heading to the shop today as well.
Thanks for the help

Transmission rebuild
I just took the Turbo 400 over to an old fellow's shop here locally. It's in his garage. Turned out to be a really knowledgeable old timer with decades of experience under his belt. He's going to build it to handle 550 plus horse power, which is what I am expecting to get from a Harden Marine motor I am planning on installing into the 442. Anyway, I just wanted to share my day's adventure. I attached a picture of his humble, but really cool shop and one of his old Olds.

Cool photos, that's a pretty big mic he has on the work bench.
Really like the color on the old Olds. I wonder what paint(code) that is?
The wiring should be the same, not sure. There should be a light for the console and one for the shift indicator.
My dual gate has part numbers on the lighting harness as such;
4431 HA
4432 HB
This wiring is plug in play, the console harness simply plugs into the accessory lighting or what ever its called.

I finished cleaning up a Hurst Dual Gate shifter. I media blasted most of the parts, used steel wool on the parts I didn't want to etch, and I replaced a few of the shiny parts that I thought should be replaced.
I have three of these now. I was thinking about cleaning them all up before selling them, but man parts are expensive.
