A service men that needs your help.

He is looking for other veterans that work at BAE Systems that where refused there job after returning home from oversees. If he doesn't get his job back soon he could loose his house. So if you know anyone that worked for this company that was refused there job let him know.

He should post this info to the major news networks, more likely to get noticed and attention to his crummy employers.

I believe if he worked there and was deployed overseas(ie national guard) by law he has to get his job back. There should be a goverment agency to take care of this. As a business owner I had to hold a job for a national guardsman while he was away.

I was in Iraq for 2 years as a contractor and I heard lots of the soldiers and Marines that I worked with complain about this very thing happening to them or someone they knew. It's common and shameful. God bless you brother, and welcome home! I'll be passing these links on to everyone I know and all the overseas contractors on my e-mail list. I'll bring it up at the patriot guard riders site as well.

Why doesn't he just contact a lawyer? There are billions of them out there and most of them would do this kind of job pro bono I would think just for the pub. The federal law is fairly specific regarding his situation:

The standard of these companies is to eliminate the position rename it and hire someone else. And until some one helps it will continue.

I do believe it is true that he must get his job back - but! There are exceptions. I am not sure of all of them, but situations such as the vet not being capable of doing the job (e.g. he lost an arm), company bankruptcy, employment status when he left (e.g. was he a contractor or actual employee), and a host of others.

Best advice is speak with an attorney.

I think it's ironic that BAE would refuse to give a veteran their job back when they are the 2nd largest global defence company and it is the worlds military forces that are their biggest customers.

There is but there are a lot of hoops to jump through. I was in a similar situation and I started with ESGR who set me up with a mediator. This process too at least 2 months with no money coming in at the time. When my employment situation could not be solved this way, I was referred to the Department of Labor. The DoL in my state had one person who handled nothing but USERRA complaints. Once the DoL got involved things went quickly and I even got paid back pay. More or less the DoL told them no new federal contracts until the situation is resolved to my benefit. If not done quickly the DoL was going to sue my employer.

EDIT: Wow, I've been a member since 2009 but hadn't posted yet??? Hello everyone, I guess I'm your board's lurker
