HEI question

After checking Ebay, I found that there are Hei distributors priced from $39 to $500. Usually you get what you pay for but I was wondering if you guys had any recommendations or thoughts on a good reliable distributor for street use on my 455? Thanks to all.

I run the $59 Ebay specials and couldn't be happier.
$300 dizzy are for race cars or people who have too much money to spend.

A good used factory unit (about $15) with new module, cap, rotor, and coil.

Taylor and DUI are both under 200 through Jegs. Used units are just that used. Who knows how many miles are on it. It will also be burdened with a smog engine timing curve. By the time your done rebushing it with a new main shaft and or a whole new housing and shaft depending how warn things are, installing a new higher end cap, rotor, low ohm rotor button and recurving it to get it off the way too lean smog curve you could have a new MSD if you include my hourly rate.
Ask how I know all this...
New is the way to go here. Customizing the timing curve(s) is critical to get the most bang for your buck too. Dont forget to NOT use the power wire from the points distributor(not a dizzy).

I don't have a race car, and I certainly don't have much money. I ordered a DUI from summit sent it up here to Canada for 3hundred and something I can't remember now. My wife pays the bills here Haha. Anyway it is well worth the money.
You heard it from a poor guy with a 76 olds.
