Fuel line routing to carb - 63 F-85

I have to say, I'm concerned where this fuel line was previously, basically resting up behind the distributor and coil, touching the engine. I'm wondering is this the correct way to have this routed? Sure it makes the line nice and neat and almost hidden, but I'm wondering about it being so close to the heat. This is using a rubber Gates line.

Thoughts?

The line from the pump to the carb was metal from the factory, not rubber.

No comments on the pic. I assume that

1.) It is OK as is.

Or 2.) You all want to see me go in up a big ball of flames.

As much as I hate to comment on a fuel hose post.
I say make a hard line for it. Hose is only appropriate for flex areas.
OEM is done that way and NHRA will boot you for hose over a certain length.

If you don't have benders and flare tools maybe someone near you does?

Does anyone have a pic of one of these with a metal line on it so I can see what the path was stock?

Not sure I kept the line? If I have it I can snap pics tonight.
May have more pictures at home?

I can get a pic for you on Wednesday at the earliest. The two engines I have are 4 barrel carbs.

On your case, I would just use alum tube and make it go up high around the dist and into the carb.

I don't think you have the correct carb. I could swear the fuel inlet faced the front of the motor. I'll look at mine to be sure
